Companioning Those
Who Say They Feel
"Burned Out"

Presenter

Duration

4 hours (total)

Webinar is recorded.

You companion others who feel burdened, worried and weary.

But what do you do when you feel your own load growing heavier,

your own hope eroding,

your own energy ebbing?

This webinar series is an Rx for spiritual fatigue.

A recipe for resilience.

This webinar series is for you.

And for those you companion.

Many of us are feeling  worn out and spiritually exhausted. With good reason. It’s been one of the most difficult years in living memory. The pandemic appears to be receding, but major challenges remain.

“Burnout” is becoming more and more common.

That means added pressure for those who companion others— spiritual directors/companions, ministry professionals, and everyone who offers listening care. We hold space for those who struggle in a world that seems to have gone “tilt,” and we do this even as we try to be spacious with our own spiritual fatigue.

It’s not an easy balance.

That’s why we created this webinar series. It’s all about resilience. It’s a toolkit of insights and innovations to refresh those of us who companion others. We’re offering practical wisdom to help you care for others who feel “burned out” and to offer healing space for your own feelings of overload and overwhelm.

Over 3 weekly sessions,  we will use contemplative mindfulness practices to center in and embody the journey of inner listening, that state of compassionate presence that welcomes all parts of ourselves, even those parts that get pushed aside or neglected.

Our approach to learning will center on these 4 qualities:

Our webinar leader, Allie Kochert, MA, LPC, CSD, specializes in burnout recovery and resiliency. Allie  is a spiritual director as well as a therapist with more than a decade of dealing with these issues. She says that the first step to resilience is to let go of any blame and to acknowledge the truth that being drained and feeling spiritually burned out just means you’re human.

She is dedicated to those who support others—whether you are a spiritual director, spiritual companion, parent, or other caregiver.

If you’re interested in practical strategies to maintain your resilience—and learning how you can offer those tools to others, this webinar series is for you.

Together we will hold each other in the knowledge that burnout is not something to suffer in alone—that with help and support, we all can thrive.

Participants from all spiritual traditions and orientations are welcome as are those with all levels of artistic and spiritual experience.

Each session runs 75 minutes.

All sessions will be recorded and be viewable for at least 12 months after the last session goes live.

“The antidote to exhaustion is wholeheartedness.”

— Brother David Steindl-Rast
