Profile: My name is Zac (he/him). It has been a privilege to be called to Christian ministry and leadership for nearly fifteen years. Outside of being a husband and father to both neurotypical and neurodivergent children, I can think of no better refinement process for my ego. Spending the entirety of my adult life engaged with the scriptures, grappling with theology, and sitting under the teachings of some very wise humans in community has revealed to me repeatedly the need for the grace that God so readily and thankfully supplies. I have been on a personal journey to deepen my own spiritual life and practice by taking a more ecumenical approach to theology and adopting contemplative practices, including centering prayer, the examen, Lectio Divina, and spiritual direction. I have had a wonderful time learning new postures of grace, as well as unlearning harmful and toxic ideas and rhythms that do not promote wellness individually or communally. I hope that my journey continues to bring me into awareness of Divine love and that these practices continue to awaken and enliven my faith toward prophetic work, extended peacemaking efforts, and social renewal that enables “the least of these” to flourish. I currently serve as an associate pastor just outside of Charlottesville, VA, where I live with my family and our two very spoiled dogs.
