Profile: Katie Davis-Crowder’s passions lay at the intersections of spirituality, social justice, and the arts. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, she earned a BMus in musical theatre at Catholic U in DC before joining the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Houston. Katie holds an MDiv from Loyola Chicago and has worked as a high school chaplain and theology teacher for almost fifteen years. Katie earned her certification as a spiritual director and director of St. Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises retreat through the Midwest Jesuits' Seminars in Ignatian Formation. She collaborates with various faith-justice organizations as a singer, writer, presenter, and spiritual director. Sustained by pilgrimage, travel, and immersion experiences, Katie loves long walks, real talk, and working to build a bigger table, alongside her partner Kevin (and pup Smartie!). While Katie identifies as an expansive Catholic, and she is proud to have been trained in the Ignatian tradition, she often has the privilege of walking with folks for whom religion and church are complicated.
