Profile: Because I believe each person's life is, at the core, a search for meaning and connection empowered by the sacred energy many call God, I am a spiritual director who brings compassionate curiosity and holds space for those seeking to recognize the everyday movements of the Holy in their life. I believe our Creator loves each of us unconditionally.
My role as your spiritual guide is to offer a safe, non-judging space for you to explore and tend to your relationship with God. No one knows your spiritual journey better than you. I will listen to your story as you choose to share, asking questions and reflecting back to you that which you might not have noticed but is there just under the surface, waiting for you to explore further.
I am waiting to hear your sacred story and walk alongside you on your journey. Please call or email to schedule a time for an initial no-cost conversation. I am available to meet with you online or in person in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
MY TRAINING AND BACKGROUND:
I am a commissioned spiritual director having completed the two-year training program in spiritual guidance at Siena Retreat Center (Racine, WI). I’ve completed continuing education through Siena, Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, and Spiritual Directors International. I meet regularly with my own spiritual director and have personally experienced the transformational power of this practice. My personal faith community is in the Episcopal Church where I was received as an adult after having been raised Roman Catholic. Whatever your faith tradition (or no tradition), I welcome and will hold space for you. I am affirming of the LGBTQ+ community as I am also a member.
In addition to being a spiritual director and retreat facilitator, I am an amateur photographer. Looking through the lens is an important resource for me to slow down and feel a deeper connection to the Sacred. I hold a Ph.D. in biology and worked as a research scientist for 30 years in academic and pharmaceutical research and development settings before my early retirement in 2017.
