Profile: The Spiritual Guidance Training Institute specializes in the art and training of spiritual directors (guides, companions) who desire to serve and practice with an interfaith/interspiritual focus in a complex, ever-changing world. SGTI programs are sourced in the Perennial Tradition and welcome students of all religious, spiritual and ethical persuasions. SGTI offers two types of hybrid, online training and certification: 1.) A certificate in Interfaith/Interspiritual Direction (Guidance): a 16-month program of distance learning (internet/Zoom) with one in-person Learning Institute. In this unique program, we also prepare spiritual guides with training in these unique areas: Sacred Compassionate Activism; Grief, Loss and Trauma; The Sacred Feminine; Spiritual Guidance with LGTBQIA+ Seekers; Eco-Spirituality and Nature Mysticism. Students receive instruction and practical assistance setting up a private practice as well. SGTI hosts a robust alumni program whereby grads are given the opportunity for extended education in spiritual guidance topics at NO additional charge. SGTI is all about community, family, and our alumni program is the foundation of this orientation.
2) Interfaith/Interspiritual Wisdom Training: A 4-month asynchronous, independent study program. This certificate of completion is ideal for caring professionals who desire interfaith/interspiritual training, including the Earth-based traditions as well as a module that focuses on those who no longer choose to identify as belonging to or practicing any one particular tradition.
3. Nature Companionship. This is a fully online training aimed at providing what you need to integrate the natural environment in your work, service, and play. It will also offer you the tools you need to guide groups on gentle walks for health and well-being, compassionate presence, and reciprocity, all with an emphasis on inner development, intuition, and embodied awareness of our interconnection with all of life.
