Profile: I am a spiritual director, meditation teacher, and psychotherapist. I received my certification in interfaith/interspiritual direction from the Spiritual Guidance Training Institute and welcome all! – those rooted in one tradition, those drawing from multiple traditions, and spiritual independents who do not identify with any tradition.
In spiritual guidance sessions I offer:
– Deep listening and compassionate presence
– An invitation to access and align with your deepest wisdom
– A space for inner discernment
– Instruction in meditation and contemplative practices
– Support during times of spiritual crisis
My background:
When I began practicing meditation and yoga in the 90's as a way to alleviate physical pain, I fell in love with the practices. Chronic pain has been one of my most important teachers; one of my specialties is working with people who are dealing with illness, chronic pain, and death & dying. Another of my specialties is working with those experiencing transitions, spiritual crisis, changing theological beliefs, and dark nights of the soul.
I am a Certified Yoga Teacher, a Certified Mind-Body Medicine Facilitator, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, integrating spirituality into my psychotherapy practice. I have studied and practiced Theravada Buddhism for 25 years, including 4 years when I lived, worked, and meditated at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies in Barre, MA. My contemplative practices include compassion meditations, chanting, pranayama, and daily walks on the bayou.
An introductory session is offered at no charge – I look forward to hearing about your spiritual journey!
