Profile: Do you feel a nudging or a beckoning in your life; an invitation to a deeper understanding? Perhaps you feel that life is calling you in a new direction, or are wrestling with an important decision. Whatever has drawn you here, I would be honored to companion you in your journey. WHAT I DO I first was introduced to the art of spiritual direction in 1992. Since then my interest has both deepened and broadened. I understand my calling as holding space for anyone who is looking for companioning in their spiritual lives as they seek clarity in becoming their most authentic selves. It is a privilege to provide spiritual friendship with compassion, gentleness, and trust. I have particular interest and experience in working with issues of discernment, domestic violence, aging, somatics, creativity, varieties of prayer and contemplation, mindfulness meditation, and the relationship of the inner path of spiritual knowledge and the outward journey of justice-seeking. I will typically meet with you once or twice a month, for one hour. ABOUT ME Raised in the Presbyterian tradition, I honor all religious traditions whether you use the words God, Goddess, Allah, Buddha, or simply Spirit, Light, Energy, Life, Source, or the Great Mystery, or indeed if you have no particular faith or belief system. I served as a pastor for 12 years, and also had the privilege of leading the national church's spiritual formation program for 11 years. In this latter role, I taught the art of discernment, mindfulness and other forms of meditation, varieties of prayer, mysticism, and creativity and art as spiritual practice. As a pastor I found particular meaning in companioning people through the journey of dying. I hold a Master of Arts in psychology with an emphasis on physiological psychology, and a Master of Divinity. My continuing education has included the study of somatic practices, and I am a certified Focalizing Practitioner. My own personal practices include journaling, writing poetry, playing guitar, and meditation. I write a blog called “Curiosity 360” which you can find at krishaig.substack.com. I find deep solace and wisdom in nature. I would welcome connecting with you. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT As your spiritual companion I will • Listen without judgment • Hold space for you • Respect your experience • Be Fully present. As your spiritual companion I will not interpret your reality, proselytize, or be dismissive. SOME FAVORITE QUOTES "The glory of God is the human being fully alive." — Irenaeus "A mature spirituality is consenting to be where you really are." — source unknown "Contemplation is taking a long, loving look at the real." — Walter Burghardt, SJ "Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire." — Catherine of Siena "The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers." — Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh "Embodiment is our deepest desire and often our greatest fear." — Focalizing Institute "The body says what words cannot." — Martha Graham "Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again, come, come. — Rumi
