Profile Details
As a spiritual director and companion, my practice is grounded in an openness to anyone searching for meaning and mystery in life and a commitment to support those exploring questions or doubts about their faith. I extend a special welcome to the LGBTQIA+ community and to individuals who have concerns or seek guidance regarding the intersection of sexuality, gender, and faith. My qualifications include completion of Stillpoint’s Art of Spiritual Direction Formation and Training, as well as their program in group spiritual direction. Additionally, I have deepened my understanding of spiritual contemplation through two years of study at the Center for Action and Contemplation’s Living School. In my previous professional work, I served as a university professor of social work (PhD, MSW), and I practiced as a clinical social worker and psychotherapist. My clinical experience included supporting those facing relationship challenges, trauma, grief, and mental illness, and working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples. Although I am no longer a psychotherapist, my practice as a spiritual companion is informed by my clinical experience, commitment to social justice, and acceptance of all who may feel marginalized, regardless of race, class, gender, sexuality, or religious background.
