A GORGEOUS EVENING OF DANCE, RITUAL, AND COMMUNITY

We are thrilled to announce this live performance and gathering in the Seattle area. All are welcome to come experience ‘Katha’ – a Kuchipudi dance recital performed by Sreelakshmy Govardhanan, a renowned Kuchipudi artist. She is the embodiment of art that knows no bounds. She is a trained psychologist who is at the forefront of the revival of Indian traditional dance in the twenty-first century. Every dollar raised through ticket sales and donations will be used to fund SDI’s educational programs.

This event is presented by Spiritual Directors International and is offered to the entire community. Everyone is invited to join us!

We hope many of our Pacific Northwest SDI Members will join us in attendance for an extraordinary, beautiful performance by this acclaimed Kuchipudi dancer!

ABOUT SREELAKSHMY

Sreelakshmy Govardhanan is a renowned Kuchipudi dancer- choreographer researcher from Kerala, India.  While puritanically adhering to the robust sampradaya of her Guru Pasumarthy Rattaiah Sarma, a doyen of Kuchipudi Yakshagana, Sreelakshmy is an individualistic thinking dancing body who has envisioned her art to address the contemporary society. Her repertoire is a unique but mellifluous amalgam of tradition and innovation, always thought provoking and philosophical.  Sreelakshmy is the founder and artistic director of the Avantika Space for Dance, a centre for learning, performance and research.
