Spiritual Accompaniment in a Digital Environment

In this session, you’ll be invited to explore how the sacred art of spiritual direction can be faithfully extended into the digital space. Drawing on over a decade of online practice, Stephen Truscott SM, PhD, will offer both reflective insight and practical guidance to help you offer spiritual accompaniment with presence, reverence, and attentiveness—even through a screen. Whether you’re new to virtual direction or seeking to deepen your confidence, you’ll gain tools for creating a hospitable and ethically sound online environment—from lighting and camera setup to confidentiality and screen presence. Together, we’ll reflect on how this evolving mode of practice might complement your ministry and expand your capacity to meet directees wherever they are.
