Sacred Listening: A Contemplative Circle in the Hindu Tradition

Join us in a sacred space of deep listening and contemplative presence, guided by the wisdom of Hindu tradition. Rooted in the practices of stillness (mauna), mindful speech (vak tapas), and heart-centered listening (sravana), this circle offers an opportunity to engage in spiritual companionship, reflection, and shared silence. Together, we will explore the transformative power of listening—both to one another and to the divine presence within and around us. Whether you seek solace, insight, or a deepened connection to your spiritual path, you are welcome in this circle of reverence and open-hearted presence. We invite you to sit with us for an online gathering on Wednesday, April 9th, at 1PM – 2:30 PM Pacific Time.

Come rest in the embrace of community, share from your heart’s wisdom, and draw strength from our collective presence to hold space for whatever arises. This is a place to be nourished, to dream together, and to be in solidarity as we navigate all that is unfolding in our lives and the world.

May this gathering be a source of renewal and inspiration for your spiritual journey.

Facilitators:

Ravi Verma is a spiritual director and has worked professionally with religious leaders, institutions and lay leaders for over twenty-five years. Ravi’s passion is to work with individuals and groups to build bridges between parts of ourselves, with others and the cosmos based on our connection to the Divine. Ravi, born in India, is involved in emergent spiritual formation and spiritual companionship processes that serve groups on the edges and seekers exploring their unique paths. Ravi is a past member of the coordinating Council of Spiritual Directors International (SDI), the first global learning network of spiritual directors in history and currently serves as a consultant to SDI.

Amrutham Babu is a Spiritual Companion in training and the Director of Programs & Business Development at SDI. Rooted in a Hindu upbringing and shaped by a Catholic education, she carries a deep connection to both traditions, cultivating a rich interfaith and interspiritual perspective. As a service corps member at 501 Commons, she has helped nonprofits in Washington bring their visions to life. Guided by a profound sense of purpose, she intertwines her spiritual and professional journey to nurture the SDI community, creating spaces where diverse traditions meet in sacred dialogue and shared wisdom.
