My joy is in responding to the invitation of the Lord to accompany others in their quest for spiritual growth and relationship with God as they are, where they are. Spiritual Direction is one of the ministries that I am privileged to take on for the greater glory of God. I belong to the Order of Virgins and have been dedicating my life to the ministry of accompaniment through spiritual direction or spiritual companioning, retreat giving, conducting prayer workshops, and human formation sessions in diocesan seminaries in the Philippines since 2000. My formation includes that from Loyola School of Theology for my MA in Spirituality and Retreat giving and MA in Theological Studies (course work), Center for Ignatian Spirituality and CenterQuest, Ignatius Centre, Guelph Canada, Ontario, Canada, and Manresa, Spain. At this point in my life, what I want to do is to shepherd and accompany people in their desire to grow in their relationship with God. It is grounded in the firm belief that God can be found because God is always present as He has promised. Definitely, He wants to be found. We only need to search HIm with all our heart, soul, and strength.

About Spiritual Direction: Often the word, "Spiritual" or "Spirituality" is met with confusion and anxiety. The Holy Spirit is the true Spiritual Director. What I do is help others see and hear the Spirit so they may receive, reflect and respond to the Divine Mystery in their own lives. About me: I was raised Catholic and became Lutheran (ELCA) as a young adult, eventually I attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (LTSS), graduated and become an ordained Pastor in 2011, and served a congregation from August, 2011, until February, 2021. My Spiritual Direction Certification was also achieved through LTSS. I have experienced trauma, some of which revolved around loved ones struggling with addiction and abuse, my own divorce and the death of a child. I've also experienced redemption: a life-walk filled with faith, the opportunity to raise my granddaughter, and the love and companionship of a supportive husband. About Life: We will always have challenges and joys in our life journey, but One who is much greater than ourselves is constantly with us. Sometimes we need a little help, someone to walk along with us as we enter into the Presence, develop the Relationship and understand the Guidance that is with us. About you: Again, in all things, the Holy Spirit is the true Spiritual Director. What I do is help others see and hear the Spirit so they may deepen the Divine Mystery in their own life. I help create and hold hospitable space for discerning what God is doing within and around them. Whether they are curious about Spiritual Direction, have specific goals in mind for growing their relationship with the Lover of our souls, or are anywhere in between, I invite interested persons to contact me for a complimentary time together during which we can explore and discern if the Spirit is calling us to work together. In all things, shalom, dear sisters and brothers. Katherine

Greetings. God is good, and has placed in my path many people that have allowed me to grow emotionally and spiritually. God has also placed before me many others who seek direction along the way. I've been in prisons, half-way houses, soup kitchens, and other areas on the margins of society, meeting people who have helped me in my own formation maybe more than I have helped. them. For many years, I was the general manager of a large steel company, so I've also been in boardrooms and office suites, mentoring others and allowing others to mentor me. Ordained a deacon, I honed my skills as the director of deacon formation. In this appointment, I helped scores of deacon candidates and their wives discern how God is calling them to a fuller life and a richer ministry of service. Bringing all of these gifts and experiences together, I now am the director of a full-service retreat center, leading retreats and helping others do the same. As part of this call, I also conduct spiritual direction, mentoring, and coaching for individuals and small groups. My passion is to grow in my own spiritual formation and where I can help others renew and grow spiritually in theirs.

After several years of working and sharing all sorts of life’s journeys with others, Robin decided to get her certificate in Spiritual Direction. What a great decision and wonderful teachers. Over the last 20 years, she has spent memorable moments with youth and young adults through Catholic and non denominational Christian ministries. The last 12 years she has spent in her medical career as an Assistive Technology Professional with people who have disabilities. Learning and connecting with various groups of people has allowed her to grow and learn in her faith and spirituality. Opening up herself even more to the Spirit, seeing and feeling it's presence in what we sometimes see as "both positive and negative". Robin felt Spirit calling her to walk with others through Direction. Her hope is by holding a trusting space for others and aid in shining love and light on what can be noticed. Robin's educational background consists of a BA in Psychology. Professionally in Graphic Art. Teams Course facilitator for adults and youth at Mt.Saint Francis, Indiana. Youth and Young Adult Ministry Director for the Catholic Archdiocese of Ky and Indiana. A RESNA certified ATP with Rehab Medical Equipment. People have always felt a sense of speaking with her in all sorts of situations. She has yet to meet a stranger. After a person experiences challenges in their childhood as well as people with disease and disabilities, you are open to see so much more possibilities for love and compassion for others. These experiences have allowed her to take feelings and emotions in a negative way and receive them as a pathway to express empathy and sympathy for others through the Divine. “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” ― Rumi Robin has always had a passion for ART. To her, ART is similar to Spiritual Direction. It's twists and turns of sizes, shapes, colors and perspectives allow us to see the beauty and mystery in the human experience. We all have a need for peace in our lives as we journey through this physical time and space. By tapping into our inner peace and calm, everyday, we have an invitation to share our light with the light in others. Robin looks forward to meeting with you. You are not a problem to be solved… You are a sacred story. And you do not have to get more organized, fit, “together” or “on top of it” in order to be seen, heard, valued and welcomed by God, by those of us here at reFresh, and hopefully, by your very own self. So, if you’re tired of… * going through the motions and just skimming your life rather than actually living it; * religious words and practices that leave you feeling not-enough, * repetitive reactionary stress and a sense of feeling burdened in your heart, soul, mind and strength; * Being afraid to share your struggles and your joys on the faith journey then you are welcome here – just as you are, not as you think you should be. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Paula has been companioning weary and disoriented, spiritually hungry souls for more than 30 years. She is an experienced Spiritual Director and Supervisor of SDs, and is on the cutting edge of integrating Inner Relationship Focusing (IRF) into Spiritual Direction and Supervision under the mentorship of Ann Cornell Weiser. IRF fosters a space of gently turning toward the parts of ourselves that we’ve orphaned, exiled, shunned, and fretted with the same Love and Compassion of Jesus. In this loving, caring presence, we aren’t trying to fix what is broken, but being with what is valuable – YOU and all the parts of you that have been set aside and pushed down for too long. It is this paying attention and being with that allows our souls to live! * If you want a companion to help you find your way home to your real self, * If you want a safe place to say and feel and think things about God and your faith journey that you’ve never been allowed to say/feel/think, * If you’d like to grow in the heart of art of SD – and perhaps learn to incorporate Focusing into your craft, then I’d be delighted if you’d contact me for a free 15 minute consult.

To be a healing presence to Spiritual Leaders is a calling I received from Holy Spirit almost two decades ago. Before that time and since I have companioned Pastors and leaders. What a priviledge it is to journey with men and women that have been called into spiritual leadership. Seeing individuals step into the flow of Gods love, mercy, grace and power is exciting and that is evidenced as their followers become vibrantly alive also. I have always heard Creator and when I was six I responded in obedience to what I heard. In that time and place ,religion was a huge part of our relationship with The Divine. Hunger and thirst for a deeper intimacy, authentic experience and radical transformative love, kept me ever seeking and never satisfied. As a Pastor I knew there had to be more but to be quite honest I didn't know to many pastors that had experienced more. Holy Spirit in many creative ways opened me up to many forms of prayer and spiritual companionship. I realized that religion doesn't always know what to do with Holy Spirit, who isn't easily controlled! The natural response of religion to the unsatisfied seeker was to point them to duty and obedience. Creator calls us to living a life of abandonment. As a spiritual companion I want to help others experience the prodigal love of the triune God in a way that reveals the false self and releases the authentic self. A journey into freedom, peace and power.

For spiritual direction Hello Everyone, Thank you for dropping by. My approach to spiritual companionship/spiritual direction is an organic one, with spirited conversation, prayer and meditation, with additional time allotted for creative expression. Imagery is the first language of the soul. I believe it is of vital importance to be connected with this primordial language. For this to happen, we need to listen deeply to the expression of imagery that surface, whether that is in conversation, or meditation. I believe we have a responsibility to understand this 'first' language, and how in turn, it directs us toward purpose and fulfillment in our lives. The witnessing of these images – this language – is a vital component, as it helps determine the nature of who we are, and who we are called to become. Time is spent determining key questions of life: Who am I? With a subtext of five underlying chapters – questions: What do I believe? What do I value? What is my purpose? What are my challenges? And – Who am I called to become? With this format in place, I believe the convergence of art and spirituality may provide portals toward spiritual renewal, personal empowerment, and transformation. The convergence of art and spirituality falls under the umbrella of pastoral (practical) theology and the arts. Years of study of the contemplative life, synched with an understanding of the mandala and the Indigenous red road and medicine wheel, are some of the threads that make up the fabric of this approach, along with a focus on archetypes, dreams, Jungian theories, and other well known concepts. Additional studies also include the facets and systems of religious church life, and consideration for what needs to change as we move forward into the 21st millennia. Gaining access to the murmurs of our heart's longing requires patience, perseverance, and deep listening. It is an ongoing process/practice as we face change – moment by moment – in our daily lives. However, over time, we gain the practical wisdom to be able to develop practices that nurture our inner life. These same ideas, concepts, approaches can also be used when dealing with corporate and organizational systems. Dynamics and addressing personal and professional needs may bring harmony to tense situations. Again, we learn to listen with an empathetic heart, and mind. When we work together on an online platform (e.g. zoom), you will be asked to set up a special place in your dwelling, a space where you feel comfortable, and can extend yourself to work on your creative pieces as well. Hopefully, it is a space that is solitary where you can have time uninterrupted. If the time arrives that you can visit here, there is space in my studio to work with your creative energy. As a Doctor of Ministry, my background also includes a Master of Pastoral Studies, A Master of Theological Studies, and a diploma in Recording Arts Management. I am also a Reiki Master, and a drum maker. I am an artist who engages with various media (painter, songwriter, photographer and writer) and artisan. (Drums, talking sticks, and the SASWE line of body products.) I participate in the belief of life-long learning. If you would like more information or a free introductory consult, feel free to drop me a message via my website (www.viviannelariviere.com) I look forward to hearing from you, and I wish you peace for your journey. As an ordained American Baptist pastor, who graduated from the Franciscan School of Theology and now serves at a United Methodist retreat center, I have a wide range of theological understanding and spiritual experience in the Christian contemplative tradition. From an evangelical background to now a Richard Rohr proclivity, I hold a more inclusive embrace of the Divine as I recognize the presence of God in everyone and everything. With doctoral studies in Franciscan ecological spirituality, I find Christ especially close in nature as I help others discover their True Self. Although I may be a "Rev. Dr.", I am just a seeker who enjoys companioning people on the journey. I am a trained spiritual director through the Gateways to God program at Rolling Ridge Retreat and Conference Center (www.rollingridge.org), and have been in direction myself for nearly 20 years. A native Californian and American-born Asian, I've been in Massachusetts since 2017. And on a personal note, I run so I can enjoy chocolate cake and not feel guilty.

Greetings! Here's a bit of history about me. I began working as a spiritual companion when I was a volunteer with Zen Hospice Project in San Francisco. Thereafter, I sought education from Sati Center for Buddhist Studies, a certificate in spiritual direction from Mercy Center, a M.A. in Culture and Spirituality from Holy Names University, then a Th.D. in Pastoral Counseling from Columbia Theological Seminary, all between 2003 and 2016. My post-doctoral work was completed at Harvard Divinity School. Sounds heady, right? Believe me when I say, this all comes in handy when I'm teaching! But I'm not always teaching. While in the act of companioning, I find that the supervised training in chaplaincy, spiritual direction, and pastoral counseling — about five years of presenting cases and receiving feedback — have been greatly beneficial. In addition to study and supervision, I've done some research on pastoral care. My research has resulted in some articles and books. One book is "Object Relations, Buddhism, and Relationality in Womanist Practical Theology" and the other book is "Buddhist-Christian Dialogue, U.S. Law, and Womanist Theology for Transgender Spiritual Care." My research and writing has practical implications, including the research I did on Women, Spirituality, and Cancer. Taking education, supervised training, research and writing all together, I am now co-founder of Center of the Heart and founder of Audre: Spiritual Care for Women with Cancer. I'm delighted to count Diane Millis and John Lee as my spiritual direction colleagues, and proud to serve with several chaplains, an artist, tai chi teacher, and yoga teacher in Audre.

Vision ARC Retreat Community (ARC) envisions a transformed world in which all people embrace and cultivate the spiritual nature of life through healthy, loving relationships with self, others, planet earth, and the Divine. Mission The mission of ARC is to serve individuals and groups seeking time apart for rest and spiritual renewal. ARC embraces people in their full diversity: including all faith traditions and spiritual beliefs. Founded in the spirit of Christian ecumenism, ARC is an interspiritual retreat community. It is nurtured on sacred land, promoting environmental sustainability, and exemplifying a just and inclusive world where every voice is valued and respected. History ARC Retreat Community was born almost 50 years ago from a visionary action that was ahead of its time. In 1972 founder Ruth Halvorson honored her spiritual vision. With the help and support of her family and many individuals, together they developed an organization that has enabled thousands of people to find rest and spiritual renewal through radical hospitality. ARC has been guided and sustained by many surprising happenings that have been described as “God events,” ARC continues to be a place for visioning so that the journey inward – nurturing one’s spirit – inspires the journey outward – nourishing the world in the quest for harmony, peace, and justice. The ARC land is located within the traditional homelands of the Anishinaabe and the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ peoples. Over thirty years ago, sweat lodges were developed by indigenous people on ARC and continue to this day. ARC offers this land acknowledgement in order to affirm indigenous sovereignty, history, and experiences and is honored to be in contemporary relationships with indigenous communities. ARC’s Symbol: The White Pine, Tree of Peace White Pines are deeply rooted in the sacred ground that is ARC. To the Anishinaabe, original caretakers of this land, pine trees represent wisdom and harmony with nature. The White Pine symbol enables us to visualize ARC’s groundedness in its history, while its branches and needles demonstrate the expansiveness and vitality that is available to all who come to ARC. The spiritual significance of trees has been important in many human cultures. To the Iroquois people, the white pine symbolized the Great Peace that united their separate nations. The “tree of life” that connects all forms of creation is deeply rooted in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic scriptures, and it was under the Bodhi tree that Buddha achieved enlightenment. Many people who come to ARC comment on the sacred presence they feel as they walk through the white pines on the land. The ARC Way: Action, Reflection, Celebration The trunks of many trees grow in spirals, as do the needles of the White Pine. ARC (Action, Reflection, Celebration) can also be understood in these spirals. Actions radiate our present understanding of Divine presence. Reflections draw us back into ever deeper understandings of that presence. And the life we live in and through this process, whatever its challenges or rewards, becomes our authentic Celebration of the Divine in human life. The Journey Inward (Reflection) The practice of ARC is to welcome everyone, offer hospitality, and provide a safe, quiet place apart for rest, solitude, and renewal. ARC’s rural, 91-acres of woods, streams, and paths calm and nurture the soul. ARC staff help plan and facilitate retreat experiences for individuals and groups and invite guests to discover the healing and restoration that can be found through rest, silence and listening. Thousands of individuals have recounted profound experiences of transformation. ARC has been referred to by many as a spiritual home, a place of refuge. ARC is a place of solitude where we can become mindful of our inner resources and become mindful of the Divine both within and around us. ARC encourages the Journey Inward by: • Providing stillness through silence, meditation, worship, centering prayer, contemplation, and other stillness practices. • Enabling ritual based on cultural and spiritual traditions including the sweat lodge, retreats, walking the labyrinth, daily worship, and creating sacred spaces supported by ritual and cyclic practices. • Offering generative and relational practices, such as prayer, tonglen, Lectio Divina, deep listening, dialogue, storytelling, journaling, and creative practices such as writing, visual art, music, dance, and singing. • Providing wellness practices, including nutritious meals, massage, spiritual guidance, yoga, and spending time in nature. The Journey Outward (Action) ARC is committed to helping heal the threats to our planet, and is dedicated to ensuring environmental, racial, and socioeconomic justice. All beings are interconnected and the suffering of one affects us all. Reflection enables participants to return to their daily lives strengthened and inspired to act for the well-being of others out of compassion and with a sense of purpose. We become instruments of the Divine working through us. ARC encourages the Journey Outward by: • Offering workshops relevant to the issues of our time, including racial and economic justice, gender identity, environmental sustainability, public health crises, and recovery from addictions. • Working with other social movements, groups, and organizations for a resilient, sustainable, and equitable economy. • Providing seminars and teaching opportunities on topics such as specific spiritual practices; the craft of writing; how to create artistic media such as fabric dyeing, wood carving, weaving, or quilting; and healing practices to recover from trauma. • Deepening the connections between the local and the global through workshops and events that connect to our local, regional, and global community. • Continually re-evaluating the mission, vision, and ideals of ARC.   Walking the Path (Celebration) An ARC experience helps connect with the fundamental joys of life and opens an awareness of the beauty of the earth. We celebrate our opportunities to live in unity with all beings, and feel our connection to the spiritual sources of renewal and vision. The path to self-awareness and spiritual attunement can be demanding. ARC provides the crucible of community for this effort. ARC encourages Walking the Path through: • Regular gatherings of support and celebration, in person and digitally, for laughter, encouragement, and to acknowledge our interconnectedness. • Retreats designed specifically to come together in celebration, such as a New Year’s Eve retreat, gatherings to mark the beginning of a new liturgical year, or a solstice gathering to rejoice in the change of seasons. • The daily practice and spirit of ARC manifests in unexpected ways. Those who are familiar with ARC can take solace in knowing each day someone is practicing loving-kindness meditation, or praying for humanity, or completing a ritual to bless the earth.
