Welcome to the prospect of Spiritual Direction. My name is Carol Ann. I am a spiritual director who is also has experience as a clinical therapist and holistic health practitioner. I am and have been compelled to learn and grow, question and seek the throughout my life. I enjoy and utilize intentional listening practices such as meditation, yoga, Healing Touch, journaling, gardening, and walking outside in nature based settings. I was raised in the Lutheran Church in Southern California, both the Missouri and ELCA denominations. I currently am a member at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. I benefit from and have deep regard for womanist, Buddhist, interfaith, interspiritual, and Native/Indigenous spiritual traditions. My training as a spiritual director was witih The Spiritual Guidance Training Program in St. Paul, MN, 2002-2004.
As your spiritual director I will, first of all, commit to holding space for you and listen, deeply, to your story. I will help you attune to your inner knowing. I will guide and companion you in your time of exploration. I will lift up questions for you to ponder. I will encourage you and affirm you as you give yourself the gift of Time. With. Your. Sacred. Extraordinary. Self.
I am primarily available via phone or for video session. In.-person session are certainly negotiable.

Louise offers safe and confidential spiritual direction and companioning. She is presently the Director of Sapience Spiritual Direction. Louise holds a degree in Divinity and a Psychology degree. Her 37+ years in active ministry in the Anglican Church of Canada provided opportunity to explore spiritual practices of prayer and formation, and experiences of walking with others as they explored their relationship with the Holy One. Louise is now able to devote her time fully to Directional/Companioning work, a vocation that has been where her heart finds its home. She believes and knows the importance of holy listening that provides the container to delve deeply into where the Divine is speaking and leading. Louise has a deep commitment to creating and holding sacred space for others as they reflect on their faith, prayer, spirituality and practices.
Open and inclusive, Louise works comfortably with those in the Christian tradition, but is also open to those on another path or faith traditions. She is 2SLGBTQI+ affirming and welcomes any who seek explore and know themselves more fully as God's beloved.

I have worked in Healthcare Settings as an OT for 30 plus years. In 2018 completed a 15 month CPE Residency/Internship at Seattle's VA Hospital where worked on Palliative Care and Hospice Teams as well as throughout hospital with Vets and Staff.
I have organized and facilitated workshops, ritual and women's circles for 4O years with intention of allowing space for people to explore tools learned primarily for self exploration, self love and self compassion through movement, creativity, sound and presence.

Spiritual direction is a ministry of compassionate presence.
