Call for Papers: Spiritual Direction Without Borders - 2020

Deadline To Apply to Present a Paper: May 29

Call for Papers

Are you conducting research in the area of spirituality or spiritual direction?

Are you seeking to connect with others undertaking research in these areas?

The Spiritual Direction Without Borders 2020 Research Symposium in Cairns this August provides you with an opportunity to connect with others who are interested in, or undertaking, relevant post graduate research.

Come along and be inspired by research that challenges traditional models of understanding spirituality and spiritual direction. The research symposium held in Melbourne in 2019 covered a wide variety of topics from Indigenous spirituality, tending to volunteers, creativity, supervision, theology, mindfulness and contemplative science and resulted in rich conversations in a supportive environment.

Whether you are still discerning your research topic or you are further along the path, please consider presenting a paper for presentation.

Format of the symposium

This one-day symposium will begin with a thought-provoking keynote address followed by a series of roundtables. Each roundtable will consist of three speakers who will each present for 20-25 minutes. The method of learning will be conversational – without Powerpoint or audio visual aids. After these presentations are completed, there will be a 30 minute time slot to process, ask questions and synthesize the material offered. You can present as an individual or in a group of 2 or 3.

The aim of the roundtables is to present research and foster conversation and connections among participants.

Easy Email Application

If you have any questions or you wish to submit an application, please follow these directions.
