Profile: As a trained Spiritual Director, Anglican priest, contemplative photographer and life coach, I will seek to accompany you by being attentive to the voices in your story, and most importantly listening with you for where the Holy Spirit may be at work and inviting growth.
I completed my initial training through St Beuno’s Ignatian Spirituality Centre in North Wales. I have a particular interest in the Christian contemplative tradition eg my Masters in Pastoral Theology explored Catherine of Siena and John of the Cross’s understanding of the gentleness of God. I am inspired by the Celtic landscape I live in along with its strong Cistercian heritage. These ancient paths have much to offer us if we will pause and create space.
In the midst of today’s climate crisis, you may be wondering where/if Spiritual Accompaniment belongs. You will be pleased to know that there is a growing group of trained people who understand the importance of eco-spirituality. I am committed to being alongside those who might have a preference to experience Spiritual Accompaniment as a “walk ’n’ talk” option over the phone. Yes, this works over distance! I don’t have to be where you are! You can have a taster session if this arouses your curiosity! The aim is to recover our sacred relationship with the earth and move from a consumerist approach to one of mutual flourishing, honouring the reciprocity of relationships.
Maybe you are searching for a Spiritual Companion who can be alongside you with less words and more creativity, then as an artist, I understand that the visual can be at least as important as words. I have experience of the power of creative arts in Spiritual Direction and am happy to prioritise this approach if it is preferable for you. I take ongoing training seriously and update my knowledge and skills every year. I have regular supervision and am part of a monthly eco-spirituality group of spiritual directors. I am also a member of the UK Spiritual Direction Forum. I have had the privilege of offering this ministry for quite a number of years now and when that is put together with my years in ministry as a chaplain in an acute trauma centre, there is not much of life that hasn't been part of the spiritual direction conversation! You may like to know that I commit to pray weekly for those whom I accompany. Please do be in touch with me to explore further. I would be delighted to hear from you.
