Profile: The Studion offers a two-year program for the training of Christian spiritual directors. Our teaching is experiential and occurs in community, with gatherings taking place (as COVID-19 restrictions allow) at the Star of the North Retreat Centre in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. Our program consists of three courses which run concurrently over the two years: Knowing the Tradition, Knowing the Practice, and Knowing God and Self. Participants spend a significant amount of time being directed through silent retreats along the themes of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. The second year of the program includes a practicum in which participants offer 40 hours of spiritual direction under the supervision of our facilitators.
