Profile: I am a Catholic mystic, Certified Integral Coach, Certified Enneagram Practitioner, and Registered Nurse with a specialization in helping Christian seekers experience abiding or permanent Union with God. By grace, I was brought to an abiding state of Union with God — also known as theosis or the unitive state — 11 years ago. The unitive state was classically described by St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Avila, among many others. However, their perspective was that Union with God was a rare phenomenon, reserved for an exclusive few. My spiritual work is centered on dismantling this historical assumption by demystifying the contemplative life through modern psychological insights, developmental research, and innovative approaches to the Christian contemplative life.

To help facilitate the Christian’s breakthrough to the unitive state, I utilize the Enneagram of Personality to help identify the unconscious egoic blind spots that obstruct the depth of one’s surrender to the contemplative movement. I also draw heavily upon my own mystical experience to inform the coaching relationship, in order to humanize the journey to Union with God. When we are able to dialogue with persons who have experienced the spiritual pitfalls and dark nights required to go this far with God, we are equipped with the knowledge to short cut inner terrain that otherwise might hinder our spiritual progress.

In addition, I am certified as an Integral Coach through New Ventures West, which allows me to apply a holistic approach to the contemplative life. This includes, but is not limited to, relationship, nature, sexuality, personal identity, somatic experience, and the integration of the active/contemplative dimensions of life. As a Pediatric Oncology Registered Nurse, I have experienced firsthand the significance of grounding the unitive experience in the world. Thus, I help my clients/directees develop the capacity to integrate contemplative awareness with the active, phenomenal life. Inner contemplation and outer activity are not mutually exclusive, but they can complement one another in a graceful way.

My spiritual calling is to help as many aspiring and experienced Christian contemplatives reach the abiding unitive state of Oneness with God. Many of us are not as far removed from this spiritual realization as we may assume, rather we’re unknowingly stuck or have prematurely settled for a spiritually complacent state. God has called all people to the unitive state as our mature human condition — irrespective of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. — for it’s our ultimate destiny to come upon the fullness of God’s Love in this life.
